A Top-Rated Criminal Defense Firm Since Our Founding in 1990
Our Firm was founded over three decades ago by Clarke Dummit, a Criminal Defense Attorney practicing in and around the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County area. Clarke wanted to create a place he was excited to go every day, with people he enjoyed being around. He didn’t want an adversarial environment where you couldn’t rely on the attorney in the next office or you had to sacrifice your personal life to succeed. He believed in teamwork and work-life balance. He also believed in hard work, dedication, owning up to and fixing mistakes, and striving to achieve, learn, and grow.
To that end, he built this Firm, first adding his Partner, Michael Fradin – an extremely well-regarded Criminal Defense Attorney in his own right, and a highly rated DWI Attorney – his skills both in and out of the courtroom impressed Clarke. They complemented each other well, one affable, one more formal, one dealing more with the money, and one dealing more with the staff, yet each brought unique and effective strategies to the Firm.
Our Team of Attorneys
Over the years, Michael and Clarke have witnessed many attorneys and staff come and go at the Firm. Each departure has been a bittersweet moment for both of them. They often worked with newly sworn attorneys, recruiting, training, and guiding them to become strong litigators and negotiators, only to watch them move on to new opportunities. The Firm has seen numerous attorneys go on to establish their own practices across the United States, become partners at larger firms in bigger cities, or even ascend to roles as judges at both the state and federal levels. However, a select few have chosen to stay with McMinn, Fradin, Gray & Logan and make this Firm their career home.
